Accommodations
Weâre taking over the entire first floor of a classic New Orleans home in the Lower Garden Districtâjust blocks from Magazine Street and a quick streetcar ride from the French Quarter. With historic charm, cozy corners, and a laid-back vibe, itâs the perfect backdrop for creativity and connection.

Youâll have your own private room to rest, write, and rechargeâbut the real magic happens in the shared spaces: inviting nooks to chat or journal, a stocked kitchen for impromptu ideas over tea, and a courtyard that opens onto a semi-private pool (yes, really).

This isnât a hotel. Itâs a house with soulâand you wonât be just a guest. Iâll be staying there with you, hosting, guiding, and hanging out between sessions and streetcar rides.

What You'll Eat
Weâre not just feeding your creativityâweâre feeding you, too.
Each day starts with breakfast at the house, shared around the kitchen table or poolside if the morningâs warm enough (it usually is). When weâre not out soaking up the culture and flavor of New Orleans, weâll gather for lunches, dinners, and snacks right at homeâcasual, flavorful, and designed to keep the energy (and the conversation) flowing.
Expect a mix of local flair and writer-fuel staples, with plenty of options to accommodate dietary needs. Youâll also enjoy:
đĽ Jazz Brunch at The Court of Two Sisters

Brunch is an art form in New Orleansâand The Court of Two Sisters is where it goes to church.
Weâll step through an ivy-draped archway into one of the French Quarterâs most iconic courtyards, where live jazz floats through the air and brunch isnât just a mealâitâs a ritual. The buffet? Legendary. Think shrimp and grits, crawfish pasta, custom-made omelets, carving stations, and desserts that donât know how to behave.
This isnât brunch for the sake of brunch. Itâs a sensory experience wrapped in wrought iron, history, and a soundtrack that makes everything taste better. Itâs the kind of place where writers linger, stories take root, and seconds are non-negotiable.
đ Witchy Dinner at Tatlo Â
Weâll conclude our retreat with an immersive dinner at Tatlo, a unique dining experience located on Bourbon Street, in the heart of the French Quarter.Â

Tatlo blends Filipino culinary traditions with elements of mysticism, offering a setting that encourages reflection and connection.Â
The ambiance is thoughtfully curatedâdim lighting, evocative decor, and an atmosphere that invites introspection. You'll gather with fellow retreat participants to share a meal that celebrates the journey you've undertaken together.
Throughout the evening, you'll have the opportunity to receive an optional tarot reading from one of Tatlo's experienced practitioners, providing a moment of personal insight as you prepare to embark on your next chapter.
Private ToursÂ
⨠Literary & Ghost Tours
New Orleans is a city where stories live in the wallsâand weâre stepping inside two of its most iconic neighborhoods to meet them.
đ Garden District Literary Tour
Weâll stroll beneath the oaks and past the wrought-iron balconies of the Garden District, where elegance meets eccentricity.Â
This neighborhood has inspired the likes of Anne Rice, F. Scott Fitzgerald, and Walt Whitman. Our guide from Lucky Bean Tours will lead us through tales of literary legends and the empire-builders of the 1800s, with a peek into the storied Lafayette Cemetery No. 1.Â

đť French Quarter Ghost & Literary Lore TourÂ

As the sun sets, weâll delve into the French Quarterâs shadowy past.Â
This isnât your typical ghost tour. Our evening walk will intertwine eerie tales of hauntings with stories of literary greats like Tennessee Williams and William Faulkner, who found muse in these very streets. Led by Lucky Bean Tours, expect a blend of the macabre and the poetic.
Writing Workshops
âď¸ Writing Workshops That Hit Different
These arenât lectures. Theyâre working sessionsâhands-on, high-level, and built for transformation. Each one is designed to help you walk away with sharper skills, clearer direction, and more confidence in your voice and your value as a ghostwriter.
đ Interview Like a Psychic
Learn how to read between the lines and hear what your subject isnât saying. This workshop gives you the tools to ask smarter questions, dig deeper, and extract the story under the storyâso you're not just collecting quotes, you're capturing essence. Youâll walk away with strategies for leading interviews that feel more like conversations and result in richer, more usable content.Â
 đ Steal Their Voice (Ethically)
This is the ghostwriting superpower: making your writing sound like them, not you. Weâll break down how to mirror tone, rhythm, vocabulary, and point of viewâso your clients feel seen and your drafts get approved faster. Youâll practice adapting voice across formats and learn how to build a reusable voice map you can bring to any project.
đź Pitch Like You're Worth Every Penny
If youâre tired of âcontent millsâ and $100 blog posts, this oneâs for you. Youâll learn how to position yourself as a premium ghostwriter, pitch clients who get it, and confidently quote rates that reflect your skill. Weâll walk through what to say, how to say it, and how to stop undercharging for high-value work.
 đ§ Map Your Next Chapter
This final session is a strategic deep dive into you. Whether you're just starting out or scaling up, weâll build a clear, personal growth plan based on where you are and where you want to go. This is your space to reflect, get unstuck, and walk away with real stepsânot vague inspiration. Youâll share your goals (if you choose) at our closing dinner at Tatlo, turning this plan into a personal intention.
Ghostwriting Talks You Can't Google
Ghostwriting is a unique and brilliant career, and most of what you need to know is not readily available on the internet.
This retreat gives you access to the conversations that donât happen in public: how to price a ghostwritten memoir, what to do when a client edits the soul out of your work, how to protect your voice and your paycheck. Youâll be surrounded by writers who get itâpeople who live in the margins, write in other peopleâs voices, and know exactly what it takes to make a living doing this work.
These arenât panels. These are real, unfiltered, writer-to-writer talksâaround the breakfast table, by the pool, after a tarot reading, mid-laugh over coffee.
No name tags. No fluff. Just the table youâve been looking forâand the people you didnât know you needed.

All About YOU
Whether youâre building your ghostwriting business or leveling up an existing one, this is your space to get real answersâand real support.
đŹÂ Actionable Group Sessions
This isnât a âsit and listenâ kind of retreat. Youâll have space to talk through your business, your goals, and the creative (or client) blocks holding you back.
đ¤ 1:1 Coaching with Mary
Youâll get a private session with me during the retreatâno generic advice, no time wasted. Weâll dig into your niche, your pricing, your process, or whatever else you need to move forward with more clarity and confidence.
Â
 đ¤ Small Group Strategy Circles
In addition to solo time, youâll join guided group conversations where weâll tackle big questions together: how to scale without burnout, how to get better clients, how to stand out without selling out. Youâll learn from each other, build trust, and leave with strategies you can actually use.
